The Elgato Cam Link 4K is much better.
If we used Imaging Edge, then OBS Studio would see the camera as a Sony Camera (Imaging Edge).
Problems With Memory-Resident Sony Software
Disable the resident software option:
Resetting IED and Webcam
The Imaging Edge Desktop and Webcam processes might need to be stopped if they are resident. Run this as an administrator, instead of restarting the computer as suggested in the documentation:
DOS
C:\> taskkill /IM webcam.exe /IM ied.exe /IM ImagingEdgeWebcamLauncher.exe /F
No Streaming Image
VLC can be used to look at the camera stream:
Imaging Edge Webcam
- Horrible, useless
- No longer displays in VLC or OBS Studio
- Does display in Imaging Edge Remote
- The webcam has no audio (I can live with that)
- Low res (not even 1080p): for me, this was the dealbreaker
