Notes

One of the 5 brothers who came to Canada on the SS Scandinavian in 1875.
Worked in the bakery of his brother Stephen, in Ottawa. Moved to Regina in
1883 to establish a homestead. Unsuccessful. Returned to Ottawa in 1886 and
worked for Stephen again. Moved to Regina in 1890 and worked as a baker.
Started his second homestead in 1896, in Grand Coulee, near Regina. Failed
again. Moved back to Ottawa and became tollkeeper at Billings Bridge (was
there in 1917). Moved to Toronto in 1934. Died there about 1940.
